Freedom’s Story Exhibit Opens at Trafalgar Library

In partnership with Sheridan’s Library and Learning Services, Sheridan Reads is very excited to announce the opening of Freedom’s Story, a Black History exhibit by the Oakville Museum.  Discover the rich history of the Underground Railroad in Oakville and learn the story of a hidden treasure found in a pocket watch originally owned by Branson Johnson, a freeborn African-American, who arrived in Oakville in 1855. Location: Trafalgar Library and Learning Commons, Room C148a Exhibit Hours: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Dates: March 9th – April 30th, 2015 Freedom’s Story is part of the Creative Campus initiative Sheridan Reads and our celebration of Lawrence Hill’s Book of Negroes.
