Multiple Database Search Tool Makes Searching Easier

May 29, 2008

Sheridan Library Services continues to enhance its services and give users a “knowledge edge” while they’re here at Sheridan.  Our latest innovation, “Multiple-database Searching“, using a “Federated Search Engine” means you can search more than one database at a time in particular subject areas (e.g;. Business, Health Sciences, Science etc.), and then directly access the full text of articles that show up from your search.  It saves you time and improves your search results.

To do multi-database searching go to Library Services home page at : http://www1.sheridaninstitute.ca/services/library, then click on the Multiple Database Search (by Subject) button under e-Resources option, where you can pick the subject of your choice.  A list of the databases searchable in your group appears as soon as you click on it.

NOTES:

1. Not all the E-databases available from Sheridan Library Services can be included under the groups listed in the Multiple Database Search option.  Such databases, along with those included in the Multi-database subject groups, can, however be searched individually, using the Alphabetical list of databases.
